Are you a detail-oriented individual with a knack for efficient organisation and hands-on work? Our Devizes based client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Yard Labourer to join their dynamic team. As the Yard Labourer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless flow of operations by accurately picking, packing, and dispatching orders, maintaining equipment, operating machinery and optimising the yard’s organisation.

Working hours:
* Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 17:00.
* Friday 08:00 – 14:00.
Key Responsibilities:
* Safely load and unload lorries using a forklift in accordance with Health & Safety guidelines.
* Inspect incoming goods against delivery notes for accuracy and damages.
* Label and store parts in designated areas following inspection.
* Manage the dispatch of finished goods for galvanising and other finishing processes.
* Conduct quality checks and fettling of returned galvanised stock.
* Pick, pack, and dispatch ABC orders with precision and attention to detail.
* Prepare and maintain despatch documentation for office records.
* Monitor and manage the check-in and out of hire equipment.
* Request service, repair, and maintenance for hire equipment when needed.
* Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the outside yard and stores area.
Specific Duties:
* Load and unload vehicles while adhering to safety protocols.
* Inspect incoming goods, report damages, and manage quarantine goods.
* Ensure accurate stock checks and proper documentation for finished goods.
* Confirm the quality and quantity of returned items to stock within 48 hours.
* Perform accurate picking and packing of orders according to sales orders.
* Collaborate with the Purchasing department to address shortages.
* Proactively maintain stock levels and report shortages in advance.
* Perform routine checks and maintenance on equipment.
* Optimise yard space utilisation, racking, and equipment placement.
* Execute any other duties as needed to support business operations.
Requirements:
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Accountability for accurate picking and packing of ABC products.
* Valid counterbalance and reach forklift license.
* Manual handling and lifting experience.
* Experience in visual inspection is a plus.
