Job Purpose:
The Financial Controller will be responsible for controlling the finance function across multiple sites for NextGen Operations Ltd partnering with group companies as well as internal stakeholders and teams.
Key Responsibilities:
* Improve understanding of profitability through development of financial models
* Identification of key business drivers of margin
* Development of monthly reporting pack to address key information for senior management
* Manage funding including invoice discounting facilities
* Serve as a trusted business partner to the management team and the board
* Production of variance analysis
* Overseeing the preparation of monthly management accounts with a focus on analysis to aid growth
* Taking ownership of budget and forecasting processes
* Manage the relationship with the Auditors
* Ongoing improvement and implementation of accounts administration processes and systems
* To ensure that PAYE, NI, VAT and corporation tax returns are prepared on an accurate and timely basis
* To liaise with the management team to ensure accurate payment of salaries, commissions, bonuses and other payments
* Implement, develop and manage own team whilst working alongside finance teams across the wider group
* Additional ad hoc work including MI and analysis to support commercial business decisions
Skills and Qualifications:
* Qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent)
* Commercially focused and with a genuine interest in the workings of a business
* Experience of using Sage Payroll and Sage Accounts
* Formidable energy and drive, able to work effectively in a pressurised environment
* Strong financial modelling skills (Excel) and ability to present information to drive action
* Excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate complex financial information to non-financial colleagues
* Proactive individual, someone able to take the initiative and show the ability to highlight an opportunity and then drive it to completion
* Very organised, diligent, process-driven and efficient
* Understanding of tax and legal requirements relating to finance in the UK and Europe
* Experience within the recruitment sector would be preferred but not essential
Due to the business requirements, this is an office based role. Remote working is unable to be considered.
