I founded NextGen Recruits in 2009 and I take great pleasure in guiding this fantastic team of professional, fun loving people into new and varied waters. Nextgen Recruits was built on trust and respect and these key characteristics are fundamental to the businesses ongoing success. I previously enjoyed successful careers in the Service and Retail industries and have always placed a high value on client partnerships and excellence of service. I am a keen sportsman, especially enjoying golf and tennis and have participated in many long distance races including the London Marathon twice and a brutal cross country Ultra Marathon, so the dynamic, fast-paced environment at Nextgen fits me perfectly.
With 10 years’ experience in the financial sector and a further 4 years in the automotive industry (B2B) most of my career has revolved around people. When the opportunity to work alongside some of the most passionate, knowledgeable, and dynamic individuals within recruitment was presented to me it was a very simple choice. NextGen is a challenging, fun, friendly place to work, with a team who all work for each other to deliver on every aspect of the recruitment process. When I am not working, my enjoyment comes from spending time with my family, entertaining friends and being involved in sport.
Privileged to be part of this team for over 8 years now, I am one of the two General Managers at Nextgen. Guaranteeing excellent customer service at all times to our wide variety of clients and striving to meet all demands is at the forefront of my position. Offering clear, valuable and dedicated recruitment support has become a passion of mine. Overseeing all operational aspects within the Temporary division is my key role, whilst also working with our very successful Permanent division. I pride myself on having an unrelenting work ethic in the business. Personally I am always keen to ensure that all members within the team are happy, supported and feel valued. Outside of work I am a big football fan, supporting our local team of Swindon Town and also following Arsenal. Along with a few of my close friends I help to organise and run charity football tournaments for various charitable causes.
I have been at NextGen for over 3 years; I started as a temp assistant and worked my way up. I believe that NextGen is more than just a workplace, it’s a place where you can be part of a team that supports and encourages each other – where you can truly feel like you’re making a positive impact. In my free time, I enjoy interior designing and spending time renovating old furniture; I also love to explore new places in different countries with my family.
Life presented me with a chance to join NextGen Recruits in October 2022 and along with it the possibility of building a successful career. The NextGen team have supported me through a steep learning curve and I have found this both interesting and enjoyable. The main part of my job is interviewing candidates, this is also the most rewarding part as it makes me happy to know I am helping people. Outside of work I like spending time with my family, teaching English and enjoying the beauty of nature, especially flowers.
I have always worked in Finance; I love making numbers make sense. Working closely with our clients is a real joy and I am fortunate to be part of a caring team. When I am not managing payroll and producing financial reports I am busy with my five children and grandchildren. I love singing, dancing and sewing in my spare time.
I have been working alongside Alex and the team since the company was founded and really enjoy the challenging environment that recruitment brings. I cover for a wide variety of different back-office roles so get the chance to utilise my studies from the Law and Accountancy degree at Southampton University in work life. I mix my duties with Nextgen alongside charitable volunteering and take great pride in helping others to achieve their personal goals. I previously completed the London Marathon for the Young Epilepsy charity and I look forward to taking on new challenges in 2022 and beyond.
